Low Carbon Urban Transport – sustainable mobility for people and goods


How do we build a more sustainable and integrated urban transport system in our cities?

This is one of the questions that will be answered at the Scania deep dive. Reduced environmental impact, stronger customer orientation and intelligent solutions will increase the attractiveness of the city environment. Reducing greenhouse gas emissions and environmental impact is of key concern to most cities.

You will hear the Mayor of Södertälje, Anders Lago, speak about how his city is building a world-class transport system. We will also show you the solutions available already today that are viable both from an environmental and economical perspective. We will test today’s best solutions and discuss what should be done to create the sustainable urban transport system of the future.

Creating a world-class urban transport system

Anders Lago, Mayor of Södertälje

Mr Lago, the Mayor of Södertälje, will be speaking about the unique cooperation between the Municipality of Södertälje, Scania, Stockholm Public Transport and Swebus to build the urban transport system of the future. Reduced environmental impact, stronger customer orientation and intelligent solutions will increase the attractiveness of the city environment. The goal is to create a world-class urban transport system.

Solutions for sustainable transport systems

Jonas Strömberg, Director Sustainable Systems, Scania

Mr Strömberg, Director Sustainable Systems at Scania, will address the changing role of a vehicle manufacturer – becoming a supplier of integrated sustainable transport solutions.

Test driving

You will have the opportunity to drive Scania’s vehicles for urban transport operations, including ethanol trucks and refuse collectors among others.
