Intelligent electricity - from intelligent homes to electric vehicles

Plug-in vehicles, micro production, smart grids, energy efficient buildings and smart homes are all well known concepts. But what happens when we combine them with the demands of urban life? Can we achieve a sustainable urban environment today - or will it always be part of the future?

Welcome to a deep dive where Fortum presents the ongoing work to integrate all these aspects into the existing infrastructure with attention to the technical solutions and behavioral patterns of the citizen.

  • Discover how intelligent electricity may be a step on the way towards a sustainable society. Sustainable Urban Living, an ongoing joint project between Fortum and the construction company SKANSKA is becoming reality. The case shows an example of how intelligent electricity becomes an integrated part of everyday life for the citizen.
  • Enjoy the EnergyGame and learn more about how Europe’s future, its youth, views and understands energy. Do the future politicians of the European youth parliament understand the mutual climate challenges we face. Interactive session with group discussions about values and energy solutions.
  • Is electricity the future of transportation? Will a transition from fossil fuels bring us closer to the Union’s 20-20-20 goals? Learn more about how Fortum is developing a recharging network for electric cars in Finland and Sweden, and how Stockholm City works together with Fortum to meet the future demands of charging poles within the city.
  • Get the opportunity to test drive tomorrow’s plug-in electric vehicles today.
