'Europe meets the World' - International health research focuses on the links between economic development, agriculture, environmental issues, poverty and health. Speednetworking: a best-practice networking opportunity serving as a platform for the exchange of knowledge and experience.
23 tables will be set up, each led by a city delegation who will present a project inspired by the broad theme "Urban Challenges - Sustainable Solutions". Each session will be run 3 times, lasting 30 minutes and including time for questions and discussions. 9 of the speednetworking sessions will be held by the EUROCITIES Awards nominees.

Gala Dinner and EUROCITIES Awards Taking place in the magnificent Blue Hall, (Stockholm City Hall, Hantverkargatan 1) famed for hosting the Nobel price banquet, our gala dinner promises to be an event not to be missed. Beautiful archways and fresco windows glow with light from open flames, creating a magical setting full of surprises, reminiscent of the folklore of Scandinavia. A stunning backdrop fit for the EUROCITIES Awards ceremony.

Responses to the Stockholm Appeal: Maud Olofsson, Deputy Prime Minister responsible for Energy and Enterprise, representing the Swedish Presidency of the EU, will together with Robert Silverman, Chargé d'affaires and Deputy Chief of Mission at the US embassy in Stockholm, join in the discussions on the Appeal's political impact.

The response of Senator John Kerry, Chairman of the US Senate Committee on Foreign Relations, sponsor of the Senate bill to reduce CO2-emissions by 80 per cent by 2050 and the leader of a delegation to the COP15 talks in Copenhagen, will be shown on screen.
